the story
I remember becoming obsessed with fashion magazines in my room & wanting to create my own when I was 8. I had spent time scrapbooking, writing, designing, gardening growing up. The pure joy of it rubbed off on me and my favorite part was cooking with both my grandmothers. They taught me so many essential things in my time spent with them. Those moments are the foundation behind why I am so passionate about nurturing things I love. Reading those magazines growing up and being so interested in fashion history, trend forecasting, and design was a main push on why I decided to try out furthering my creative outlets. I entered the modeling industry when I turned 17 years old. I always thank my friend Drake for encouraging me that I could walk the runway at that age. I worked on his personal brand with him doing trend predictions and co-design. During my time working there I participated in my first runway show. I believed in myself and knew I had to get out of Las Vegas once I graduated. I saved up a little bit of money working through high school and landing a valet attendant job right out of school. I was able to pay in full for college and also my plan started formulating about my next step into the unknown. I remember when I turned 18 I had received a callback for a runway show presenting in NYC. I had never been before but I knew I had a cousin on my dad’s side there and this could be my moment. I lied to my parents saying I already booked the job so they wouldn’t be worried and made my way to the big city. Long story short I booked the show! I’ll never forget it was for Michael Costello’s Winter Wonderland runway show in 2014. I literally thanked God because I had all of my family members calling every second to ask how everything was going and how was the show. I was entranced and felt I had a calling in New York. I was there for a reason. It’s been a continuous love story ever since. I knew a more creative field was in my destiny because there are so many outlets to exert my talents and even the ones I have yet to discover. Fast forward the story surely continues..
